Stirling City Centre road changes. Consultation

Stirling Council have advised me of a consultation taking place regarding proposals for extensive changes to the King St, Murray Place, Station Road, Goosecroft Road, Maxwell Place, and the Barnton Street area. They are moving towards a planned implementation in Summer 2013.

Bike Train Falkirk/Stirling

I live in the Falkirk area and would like to find out if there would be numbers interested in a Bike Train for the morning commute from from Falkirk into Stirling.  I generally cycle from Larbert, sticking where possible to the back roads, past plains castle and through Cowie before coming into Stirling.

Hopefully the idea of cycling in a group with some others would make the prospect less daunting.

Stirling Council consultation on cycle parking & shared use paths in Bannockburn

A period of Consultation has now opened on proposals for enhancement of the public spaces in front of Quakerfield shop parade in Bannockburn; including cycle parking & a shared use pedestrian/cycling path.

British Cycling justice review campaign

British Cycling and Cycling Weekly have called on the Lord Chancellor to launch a comprehensive review of the justice system and how it operates when people are hurt or killed on the road. A parliamentry Early Day Motion has been set up to support this.



The CTC have been gathering data on the subject as part of thier Stop SMIDSY campaign

Stirling Council awarded cycling money by sustrans

Stirling Council was successful in their bid to Sustrans Community Links programme.  There are three areas of work that will be undertaken:-

Eco Drive massive savings and great fun

Thanks all those who recently took part in our Eco Drive !!!

Together using the eco drive techniques they will save 6.7 tonnes of Carbon or almost a half tonne per person. This equates to an average £277 savings per person every year.
